Engineering Manager

Divelement Web Services is currently hiring an Engineering Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate would have strong working knowledge of all phases of application and product development and be well versed in multiple technologies. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated history of building applications and products from the ground up, helping to design architecture and technical requirements around business requirements and objectives. Candidates should also be well versed in engineering best practices and should demonstrate a strong ability to lead a team and be a mentor.

Responsibilities:

• Become intimately familiar with our current engineering department, and our strengths and weaknesses to help develop a long-term scalable approach to improving and sustaining a world class engineering team
• Help to implement engineering processes and best practices, and develop an engineering handbook to help onboard and align new engineers as well as existing engineers to a centralized company standard.
• Help to identify and create KPIs that are objective to help track across the engineering department, and to help identify where improvement is required.
• Guide technical direction across multiple teams, including choices around language/framework, system architecture, best practices and patterns
• Demonstrate an ability to be persistent when faced when roadblocks, and have an ability to efficiently delegate tasks to help resolve issues quickly
• Deliver accurate estimates and time frames on projects, while also helping to weigh in on the trade-offs between MPV versus Enterprise Grade, time to market, and other dimensions.
• Communicate effectively with clients to keep them informed and to help guide and consult them.
• Stay up-to-date on industry trends, and be able to make recommendations towards current and future projects based on those trends.

Relevant Experience:

• 3+ years of experience designing and developing scalable cloud-native applications and products.
• 3+ years of experience using web based technologies like React, NodeJS, Python, AWS, etc. This is not an exhaustive list but should be considered a guide towards our expectations.
• Should have working knowledge of other technologies like .NET (C#), Java, PHP, GCP, Azure, etc.
• Should possess or be willing to get within 3 months of hiring an AWS Solutions Architect Associate Certification, and be willing to continue to work towards more certifications.
• 2+ years working in a B2B services environment with US based clients.
• C1 or higher English
