Database Administrator (DBA)

JOB SUMMARY

Divelement is a strategic technical partner to clients. We collaborate with like-minded

organizations to build and develop technologies, bringing vision to reality. The Database Administrator is a critical addition to Divelement’s mighty team. Not only will this DBA be adept in SQL and MySQL along with cloud integrations but they will provide guidance and expertise to a cross-functional development pod. They will take our Delivery Team to new heights by contributing to Engineering best practices, igniting a passion for self-accountability, and maintaining Divelement’s status as one of the best places to work.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Support & Contributions

• Perform regular database maintenance tasks, such as data backups, restoration, and performance tuning.
• Monitor database performance and resolve any issues or bottlenecks to ensure smooth operations.
• Collaborate with the development team to design and implement database solutions that meet our business requirements.
• Optimize database queries and provide recommendations for improving overall system performance.
• Troubleshoot database-related issues and provide timely resolution to minimize downtime.
• Ensure data security and integrity by implementing proper access controls and backup strategies.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

Technical

• Must be skilled and capable in the following coding languages:

• SQL
• MySQL (Legacy Application database, Microsoft database)
• Azure

Soft Skills

• Cloud Experience, specifically Azure
• 5 years of proven experience as a Database Administrator, specifically with MySQL and SQL.
• Strong understanding of database concepts, such as normalization, indexing, and data modeling.
• Proficiency in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries.
• Familiarity with database backup and restoration processes.
• Knowledge of database security best practices.
• Must embody accountability, bias to action, and collaboration
• Strong time-management and organizational abilities
• Analytical thinking
• Excellent communication in English
• Positive motivational, and interpersonal skills.
